Royal Leamington Spa Heroes
During the February ‘Love Leam‘ month, Identity Studio designed the material for the ‘RLS Heroes’ competition. RLS being Royal Leamington Spa and Captain Leamington!
Love Leam month is all about generating footfall into Leamington during the traditionally quiet month of February (the month of love). Christmas having been and gone, so too the January sales, it’s important to entice visitors to come into Leamington town centre during what would otherwise be a quiet period.

‘RLS Heroes’ were born
With this in mind, a competition for children in the area to invent and draw a Leamington Superhero. The winners would be rewarded by having their images drawn up professionally by our favourite illustrator, J R Gibson, and made into a top trumps pack of playing cards. These cards could then be obtained from stores in town – thus encouraging visits to the shops.

Protecting the streets!
We created an A5 flyer encompassing the competition details, rules and entry form. This was delivered in a comic book style to generate immediate interest amongst the kids. Supporting material included local newspaper adverts, a Facebook page and a ‘takeover’ web page for the Leamington Courier..
To ‘protect’ the streets window decals were dotted around the town centre to provide a fun, visual, way of linking the entire campaign together.
